Frequently Asked Questions

During the semester, how can i keep track of how many meals or dining dollars i have left to use?

All you need to do is ask the cashier what your balances are and they will be happy to assist you.

What if i run out of meals and/or dining dollars before the end of the semester?

If you run out of meals or dining dollars, you may add dining dollars to your card in $25 increments at the business office

Can my friends come into Resident Dining and sit with me while i dine if they do not want to eat?

No. Resident Dining is designed for customers only. You can also take your food to go and dine on the patio.

Will the cafeteria be open during holidays and breaks?

Resident Dining will be closed most school holidays, including fall break, spring break, thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays. The Campus Life office can provide a list of restaurants within walking distance of UIW.

When does the week reset for my meals?

Weeks will reset on Saturday morning.

Can my friends use my swipes?

No, meal plans are non transferable, they must be used by the student who they were purchased for.

Why can't I use my swipes for guests?

Meals plan swipes are non transferable. If you have a guest you'd like to eat with you you can pay for their meal using your Dining Dollars balance.

Can I get my food to go?

Yes, when paying please ask the cashier for a to go container. To go containers are for off premise consumption only.

Lost Your Meal Card?

Lost or stolen meal cards can be replaced. Should this happen to you, report your lost or stolen id card immediately to the Campus Life office located in the student center or call (210) 829-6034. Replacement id cards are $15 each.

Dietary Requirements & Sick Trays

Do you have particular dietary needs? No problem! Our Campus Dining Services Program can accommodate your special dietary requirements. for more information, please contact Wes Muncy at (210) 805-5875. Sick trays are also available for students that have purchased a meal plan. if you’re feeling under the weather contact us and you can have your roommate or friend come pick up your order.

Dining Policies & Procedures

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that meal cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone except the person to whom it is issued.
